Happy New Year all.

It’s been 12 months since Trust The Wizards first came to the airwaves and is perhaps no surprise after all the thrills and spills this has given us all that it is time for a wizard solo venture.

Welcome to a new Trust The Wizards blog feature where I undertake to present 2 Robert Pollard related songs daily throughout the year. The choice is being determined by the iTunes randomiser and not me. Honest.

As we go through the year I will build up a Spotify playlist and include songs where available and will also try to include youtube clips and/or links. If all else fails, you’ll just have to go out and buy the records.

So, here are the first two:

1. Robert Pollard – Kick Me And Cancel (from the album From A Compound Eye)

2. Guided By Voices – Who Invented The Sun (Let’s Go Eat The Factory)

Check out the playlist to hear all the available songs so far.

  1. And we’re off!
Nice one Kicker. A great start to the blog.
May Bob bless the Daily Double Standards and all those who sail in her.

    • Thanks, Chorizo.

Kick Me And Cancel is an oft-overlooked track from the 2xLP From A Compound Eye (one of my favourite solo Pollard releases), but the riff is a real earworm. In fact, it is so good that Pollard himself can’t resist chucking it out one more time right at the end of the song.
